Herman Yablokoff (1903–1981) an Eastern European-born songwriter, lyricist, actor, playwright, director, and producer probably most known as the composer of the song Papirosn. Yablokoff became famous on Second Avenue and went on to tour in Israel, Scandinavia, Europe, Cuba, and South America, frequently playing opposite his wife, Bella Meisel.
