Large and impressive old brass jewelry box - Large and impressive vintage brass jewelry box, manufactured by Hanafi, likely North Africa (Morocco?), 20th century, designed in an oval shape. The lid is decorated with a musical scene of a mermaid and a merman enjoying each other's company among the waves. The body of the box features segment decorations and repeating patterns. Stands on four stylized legs with plant motifs. Interior lined with burgundy velvet fabric. The lid is attached to the box with a hinge at the back and two chain links—one on each side of the box. Signed on the bottom—signature in English and Hebrew within a circular mark. Dimensions: 33 x 25 x 12.5 cm. Weight: 2.71 kg. Minor wear, light patina.
