Weight: 370 gr Felix Pinner (1880-1942),deutsch-jüdischer Schriftsteller Felix Pinner (born February 22, 1880, in Birnbaum an der Warthe; died May 3, 1942, in New York City) was a German writer and prominent economic journalist during the Weimar Republic. He attended the State Catholic Gymnasium in Glogau and the Sophiengymnasium in Berlin. He studied law and political science in Berlin and received his doctorate from the University of Rostock in 1904. Pinner worked as an economic journalist for the Berliner Tageblatt and was head of the business section from 1910 to 1933. He also contributed to the Schaubühne, Die Weltbühne, the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, and Bohemia. For Die Weltbühne, beginning in 1921, he wrote 30 portraits of German business leaders under the pseudonym Frank Faßland, which were published as a book in 1924. ”What we have here is a scientifically reliable account from the dry world of economics, seen and enlivened by the artist's temperament,” read the publisher's advertisements. He also wrote other books, including a novel called Tannerhütte, which was filmed in 1977 by Peter Stripp and Ingo Kratisch. In 1937, he emigrated with his family via England to the USA, where he was unable to establish himself professionally. On May 3, 1942, he and his wife committed suicide together in their apartment in Queens by turning on the gas.
