Bozena Brydlova was a Czech-born, American-based esoteric thinker active in the early twentieth century. She is known almost exclusively for a single work, Io Unveiled (1922), published in New York by Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply Co. Very little is known about her personal life. She likely originated from Bohemia (then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire) and later emigrated to the United States, where she operated outside academic institutions. Her intellectual milieu appears to have been connected to esoteric, theosophical, and Masonic circles, as suggested by her publisher and the symbolic nature of her work. Her book presents what she termed the “Brydlovan Theory of the Origin of Numbers.” This theory treats numbers not as abstract mathematical entities but as expressions derived from geometric forms and linear transformations. The system draws on elements of Pythagoreanism, hermetic philosophy, sacred geometry, and symbolic cosmology. It is philosophical and esoteric in nature rather than scientific or mathematical in the modern sense. Io Unveiled was issued only once, in 1922, in a small print run and was never reprinted. Following its publication, Brýdlová disappears from the historical record, with no confirmed later works, lectures, or public activity.
