Paul Schulze-Berghof (pseudonym for Paul Schulze; * April 16, 1873 in Landsberg an der Warthe; † March 28, 1947 in Bergholz-Rehbrücke[1]) was a German writer. Paul Schulze-Berghof was the son of a river engineer. He spent his childhood in the Havelland, the Warthebruch, and the Oderbruch. After his confirmation, Schulze-Berghof trained at the preparatory school in Königsberg in der Neumark and at the teacher training college there, graduating successfully in 1893. He then worked as a primary school teacher in the Küstrin region, in Alt-Driebnitz, and Reitwein. In 1896, he was transferred to Wandsbek near Hamburg. He pursued extensive private studies, primarily in the fields of art and literature. After publishing a number of essays since 1905, he gave up teaching in 1912. He lived as a freelance writer in Munich, Berlin, and Potsdam. Paul Schulze-Berghof was the author of novels, short stories, essays, and plays. His narrative works on themes from the time of Frederick the Great were particularly successful.
