From the foreword: ”The Jewish hiking club 'Blue-White' was founded in 1912 and was linked to the Wandervogel and Zionist movements. This book was intended to help organize groups of younger members within the club: 'Hamischmar' – that's what the groups of younger members, boys aged 10-15, were called, who were to form within the youth group's platoons... The education of younger members in Blue-White has been neglected until now.” The goal was education and training, but without coercion and with reform-pedagogical approaches. Ideas regarding the content and structure of education and training are presented in detail; these included, for example, craft and artistic skills, learning Hebrew, and numerous other things that could also be important for emigration to Palestine. ”Blue-White” was dissolved in 1926.
