In generally good condition: cover: light abrasions; interior: paper browned, slightly brittle, light tears to the margins of some pages.  * La Semaine d'Averbode — was a widely read Belgian family magazine established in 1907 by the Norbertine Abbey of Averbode, and served as a leading Catholic publication during the interwar period. 1928 context: in the late 1920s, La Semaine d'Averbode (and its Dutch counterpart Averbode's Weekblad) was part of a major publishing effort by the abbey to promote Christian values in popular culture. Archival access: copies from this period, including annual compilations or bound weekly issues from 1928, are held in Belgian archives, such as the collection of the UNIVERSITÉ LIBRE DE BRUXELLES - ULB. The publication was part of the ”ARTPRESSE” research project, which examines how Belgian interwar periodicals — particularly those of Averbode — offered a distinctive perspective on art and culture that differed from the official artistic canon.
