Deluxe Facsimile Set of the Gutenberg Bible - Deluxe facsimile set of the Gutenberg Bible, published by Brussel & Brussel Inc, New York, 1968. Three volumes, off-white hardcover cloth bindings, decorated with gilt and black lettering on the spine. Unpaginated.  Two volumes: the Old Testament, and a third volume: the New Testament.  Housed in original dust cover case, decorated on the front with a color-printed sticker bearing the set's original retail price of $75.  6.1 kg.  Overall condition good-plus: light abrasions and fading to the case; the books in near very good condition, with minor age spots to the binding on the spine and along the margins.  The Morgan Library & Museum in New York is the only library in the world holding 3 of the 49 known copies of the original 1455 edition of the Gutenberg Bible. Only one of those 3 is a complete original Gutenberg volume. There are only 5 complete original Gutenberg editions in the United States (Morgan, New York; Library of Congress, Washington D.C.; Yale; Harvard; Austin, Texas). In 1968, Brussel & Brussel of New York published a limited edition of 3 volumes — an abridged black-and-white facsimile of the complete Gutenberg Bible. Two volumes comprise the Hebrew Bible and the third is the New Testament. The New Testament volume includes color illustrations.
