Rare and Exceptional! Pair of Old African Carved Male and Female Figural Storage Vessels - Rare and exceptional! A pair of old African carved figural storage vessels, male and female, 20th century, each carved from a natural yellow organic material, from particularly thick tusks, and of massive proportions. One in the form of a male figure and the other a female figure, with eyes painted in black. Mounted on matching round wooden bases with matching wooden lids and carved handles. Height: 21 cm, diameter: 10–13 cm. Total weight (gross; bases cannot be separated): 2.189 + 2.099 kg = 4.288 kg combined. Light wear, light scorching, minor cracks as expected in organic material, light patina. Please examine the images attached to the lot.
