Housed in a modern photo album. 670 grams. * Theodor Hofmeister was born on April 21, 1868, in Hamburg, Germany. Hofmeister, who first worked as a wholesale merchant, began photography in 1895. Together with his brother, they produced their first exhibition the following year, and in 1902 Theodor Hofmeister began teaching photography. By 1914, he and his brother were at the center of the Hamburg School of Photography. In their early days, they produced postcards, then carbon pigment prints. Later, Theodor Hofmeister handled most of the printing and Oskar made the exposures, although they always discussed the works together.
