Carved from various stones, decorated with engravings of ancient script on the underside. Width: 8–9 cm. Light wear. * Scarabs were used as protective amulets, personal or official seals, or decorative artistic objects in ancient Egypt. They symbolized the god ”Khepri” and were associated with ideas of renewal, creation, and transformation, inspired by dung beetles rolling balls of dung. Their undersides are decorated with hieroglyphs, symbols, and royal names.  692 g.
