Cover decorated with a photograph of the Queen with an inscription of her titles. Published by Ahlen & Akerlund, Stockholm, Sweden, 1935 (shortly after her tragic death in a road accident).  Includes historical photographs, articles, and farewell tributes to her as a Swedish princess who became the beloved Queen of the Belgians. 32 pages printed on quality coated paper.  34.5 cm. Light wear; cover: light scorch marks along the margins; interior: light yellowing.  405 g. Under the same title (sometimes also associated with 1936), a Swedish-Belgian cinematic collaboration was produced, comprising newsreel and archival footage in her memory. The film was screened for the Belgian public as a tribute to the beloved Queen following her sudden death. Astrid was killed in a fatal road accident in Switzerland on 29 August 1935, in which her husband, King Leopold III, was driving the vehicle when it crashed. The accident deeply shocked Belgium and all of Europe.
