Vintage Figurative ”Hermes” Tabletop Oil Lamp - Vintage figurative ”Hermes” tabletop oil lamp, apparently Italy, circa early 20th century. Decorated with the figurine of the god Mercury (Hermes) wearing the winged hat characteristic of the messenger god of mythology, holding an arm raised aloft and supporting a receptacle cup in the form of an antique Roman oil lamp with 3 branches for oil wicks. Mounted on a wide tiered circular base. Gilt patina. Height: 25 cm. 738 g. There is a crack of approximately 2 cm from the rim of the base.
