In the introduction, the poet notes that most of the love poems and religious lyrics in this collection were written before his celebrated collection Gitanjali . He further notes that the English translation (upon which the present German translation is based) is not always literal, and that the poems were at times shortened or reformulated as paraphrase.  184 pages, hardcover.
