Antique French ”Napoléon III” Style Wooden Storage Box - Antique French wooden storage box, circa 1870, designed in the Napoléon III style, of rectangular form, decorated with a root-wood veneer of naturally mottled, textured grain. Lid attached with a long, strong metal hinge. The center of the lid is decorated with a brass inlay plaque. The interior is divided by fixed wooden partitions into dedicated compartments of various sizes, with a black patina finish. The base is lined with cardboard paper covering.  Button-clasp closure mechanism. Possibly used for a set of weights or some scientific instrument.  Dimensions: 18 × 9 × 3 cm. 204 g.  Minor flaws to the root veneer, primarily at the corners and sides.
