Gold-Plated Figurine Pendant in the Form of a Shaman/Cacique — Tairona Culture, Colombia - Gold-plated figurine pendant in the form of a shaman/cacique, Tairona culture, Sierra Nevada region, 10th–16th centuries CE (Pre-Columbian period). Most likely a quality museum replica. Made of a metal alloy, gold-plated, executed in the lost-wax technique, depicting a stylized standing figure of a ruler or shaman with hands placed on the hips. The face is decorated with a prominent nose ring characteristic of the local style. The head bears a massive, semicircular crown decorated along its edges in simulated filigree. Suspended from both sides of the headdress are swinging discs.  On the reverse are two loops for use as a pendant. Mounted on a rectangular wooden base with a brown leather strap. Overall height: 8 cm. 83 g.
