Vintage Trousseau Set: Duvet Cover and Two Pillowcases with Hand Embroidery and Gilt/Pink Hebrew Monogram – Mid-20th Century - For sale: a set of quality white vintage linens comprising one duvet cover and two pillowcases in varied sizes. The entire set was sewn and embroidered by hand with great care, originally intended to form part of a bride's ceremonial trousseau. The textile is decorated with beautiful thread embroidery in a delicate antique-pink tone, forming a rich oval botanical border of interlaced flowers and leaves. At the center of the duvet cover and pillowcases, a stately and charming monogram has been embroidered in Hebrew initials — the letters ”Resh” and ”Kuf” — rendered in a rounded calligraphic font that blends harmoniously with the floral motifs. Further evidence of the set's age and high quality is the use of hand-twisted fiber buttons worked in miniature macramé/lacework technique, a traditional craft that has entirely vanished in the era of industrial production. The lot is sold as-is, as a vintage textile and collectible item. In very good, clean condition and usable. The set has been kept in long-term storage and therefore displays fold lines; there may be very light storage stains or slight natural yellowing of the white fabric, removable with gentle cleaning and delicate washing.  Dimensions of the large duvet cover: 190×150 cm.
