Israeliana / Folk Art – Lot of Miniatures and Tiny Wooden Figures for a Dollhouse / Folkloric Display, circa the 1950s - A collection of tiny figures and items, all hand-carved and hand-worked in wood as unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. Lot Contents and Design: * 6 carved seated-scene figures (the lighter-toned ones): original wood carvings in which the figures are depicted seated or crouching on the floor, integrally incorporated as part of a rustic sofa or armchair structure (carved as a single block). * 8 independent folk figures: tiny wood carvings depicting figures of Eastern/Yemenite immigrants (bearded men with a raised hand, and women with traditional head coverings, accented with touches of white paint). * 2 central standing figures: a male figure wearing a tall top hat and long coat (painted green), and a female figure in a wide dress accompanied by a tiny, detachable accessory in the form of a wooden umbrella/parasol. * 6 lathe-turned elements: delicate, rounded wooden items simulating miniature household or decorative objects (such as small candlesticks or vessels). * 2 hand-painted wooden plaques: one plaque with geometric-traditional decoration, and a second plaque bearing an abstract painting in the spirit of the Israeli ”New Horizons” style of those decades. Preserved in very good complete vintage condition. The wood is clean, strong, and stable, with a beautiful natural patina tone. Height of the man with the top hat: 5.5 cm. 66 g.
