Antique and Magnificent Yemeni Jambiya Dagger — Intricate Silver Filigree Work, Leather Scabbard, and Hand-Engraved Silver Mount - A traditional antique Yemeni Jambiya dagger (late 19th / early 20th century) of a high standard of finish. The blade is well preserved, strong, and stable. The handle is designed in a crescent shape (”Sa'fani” style), made of a dark, rigid material, decorated with two metal coins/discs and a delicate silver filigree mount at the junction with the blade. The front of the scabbard is almost entirely clad in silver panels decorated with highly intricate hand-worked silversmithing, combining twisted silver wire (filigree) and tiny silver granules (granulation) in traditional geometric and floral patterns. The back of the scabbard is covered in original leather, thick and well-stitched. Length: 39 cm. Total weight (gross): 387 g. Light wear, patina, and light abrasions.
