Assortment of 3 Underground Satirical Comic and Erotic Booklets – Reiser, Willem, Tetsu (Amsterdam, 1969–1971) - A collection of three comic, illustration, and adult satirical cartoon booklets (Adult Satire / Erotic Counter-Culture Ephemera) from the era of the sexual liberation movement and counter-culture of the late 1960s and early 1970s. The booklets were printed in small editions in Amsterdam, the Netherlands — which was at that time the capital of the European avant-garde — and bring together some of the most iconic names of the genre: * Booklet 1: ”How do you do?” by Tetsu (René Coutty) – published by Thomas Rap, Amsterdam. A soft-cover booklet with an orange cover, presenting humorous, witty, and erotic illustrations characteristic of the well-known draftsmanship of this celebrated French artist. * Booklet 2: ”Je Vous Aime” by Reiser (Jean-Marc Reiser) – published by Thomas Rap, Amsterdam (third printing, summer 1971). A collection of sharp and witty satirical cartoons on relationships, society, and erotica by one considered among the greatest French satirists (a co-founder of ”Hara-Kiri” and ”Charlie Hebdo”). * Booklet 3: ”Forty Dirty Drawings” by Willem (Bernard Holtrop) – published by Uitgeverij De Harmonie, Amsterdam. A soft-cover booklet with a pink cover containing approximately 40 provocative, anarchist, and surrealist black ink drawings in the pure underground spirit of the period. The lot is sold in vintage, used condition as-is: The pink booklet (Willem): in good condition, complete and fully attached to the original cover. The yellow booklet (Reiser) and the orange booklet (Tetsu): the interior pages are entirely detached from the soft outer cover (requiring re-gluing or a conservation intervention). The paper pages themselves and the illustrations are complete, clean, and without missing pages, with light and natural browning to the margins consistent with the age of the paper (patina of time). A small, light pencil inscription (”Chana”) appears on the inside covers. 13.7 cm. 181 g.
