Assortment of 3 Original 19th-Century Etchings! Female Portraits by the French Master Edmond Abot - Three original and delicate etching prints from the second half of the 19th century, by the renowned French painter and printmaker Edmond Abot. All three etchings bear the artist's authentic signature in the margins of the plate: ”E. Abot aqua-fort”, proudly indicating that these are meticulous handcrafted works executed in the eau-forte (acid etching) technique. The set presents three separate female portraits of exceptional realist and romantic line, characteristic of the artistic salon fashion of Paris in the Victorian era. The figures are rendered in profile and deep three-quarter profile, employing striking chiaroscuro light-and-shadow effects that lend volume and life to the facial features, the pinned hair, the details of dress, and the delicate jewelry. Among the works, the set includes a portrait of a woman in traditional/religious dress bearing a cross necklace, alongside two portraits of aristocratic or high-society women in a classic and refined design. Each etching is printed on quality aged paper in a cream tone, and is in excellent, clean preservation with no significant age staining or flaws. All three prints are already set and mounted within a thick, quality cream off-white cardboard passe-partout, framing them elegantly and professionally and rendering them immediately ready for framing and hanging. 18.5 × 12 cm each. Including passe-partout: 19.5 × 16.5 cm.
