Collection of Aviation and Postal History: 8 Vintage Postcards from the Third Reich and the Luftwaffe Era (1926–1944) - A collection of 8 vintage postcards and complete postal items, original and authentic, dating from 1926 to 1944, documenting exclusively the world of military and civilian aviation and wartime propaganda in Germany. The lot forms a remarkably cohesive thematic grouping, combining valuable Postal History with rich visual documentation of the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) and the Wehrmacht apparatus. Each of the 8 items in the set is presented in its entirety — the front of the postcard alongside its reverse, bearing official ink cancellations, period stamps, and censorship authorizations. * The earliest historical anchor in the lot is a rare, official airmail postcard of the Württemberg newspaper from September 1926 , commemorating a special transcontinental flight named ”Siebenländerflug” (Flight of the Seven Countries), operated by the German national airline Deutsche Luft-Hansa. The postcard is decorated with an impressive graphic illustration of the airline's aircraft, bears an original yellow airmail label, and is filled with dense handwriting alongside an official postmark from the Berlin airport. * A second highlight of the lot is a rare aerial-photograph postcard from 1936 of the central Berlin airport (Berlin – Zentralflughafen) taken from an altitude of 450 meters, bearing on its reverse an official Hitler stamp and a sharp, highly sought-after official ink cancellation of the Olympic Games (Olympische Spiele Berlin 1936). * The overtly military dimension is represented by a dramatic full-color front-line art postcard dated 30 September 1944, bearing the title ”Bezwungenes Hindernis” (Conquered Obstacle) by the artist Schneider, filled on its reverse with authentic wartime handwriting and an official stamp. * An additional combat postcard in black and white depicting steel-helmeted soldiers in trenches moments before an assault (”Vor dem Sturm”). The lot also includes high-quality, sharp photographic postcards of combat aircraft and aerobatics in flight (including editions by the publishing houses Bruno Hansmann and HORN), among them a light aircraft bearing the official registration D-ILIT and a prominent swastika emblem on its tail. The collectible value of the aircraft postcards is significantly enhanced by the printed inscription attesting to approval by the official government military censorship of the Reich Aviation Ministry (freigegeben durch R.L.M.). All postcards are preserved in good condition; the paper is stable, the ink cancellations (including the Olympic Games cancellation, the Lufthansa airmail cancellations, and the censorship cancellations) are sharp and fully legible, and the stamps are intact and well adhered. Some postcards show light, natural age wear at the margins or old album-adhesion marks on their reverses, which do not affect the front or the text.
