A Collection of 41 US Buffalo Nickels and 4 US Liberty Head Nickels - This collection consists of 41 US Buffalo nickels, also known as Indian Head nickels, and 4 US Liberty Head nickels, commonly referred to as V nickels. Struck in a copper-nickel alloy, these five-cent pieces represent two major types of US coinage from the late 19th to mid-20th century. The Buffalo nickel group includes specimens with various levels of legibility, with one obverse clearly dated 1937. The Liberty Head nickels include a specimen dated 1903. Inscriptions visible across the collection include LIBERTY, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination FIVE CENTS. The Liberty Head reverse features a large Roman numeral V within a wreath. All coins feature plain edges.
