Houston Llew Spiritile Turner Heart II Glass on Copper Art Block Number 131 - This is a Houston Llew Spiritile, titled Turner Heart II, number 131 in the artist's collection. The piece is constructed of vitreous enamel (molten glass) fired onto a copper plate that is wrapped around a solid base. The front decorative panel features a large, textured reddish-brown heart containing a smaller, pale-colored heart at its center. This imagery is set against a mottled light blue background with dark scrollwork at the bottom. The sides of the block are finished in a crackled gold-tone enamel. The top edge is inscribed with the name e.e. cummings. The left side edge is inscribed with the text i carry your heart with me, while the right side edge is inscribed (i carry it in my heart). The bottom edge features a stylized black script signature for Houston Llew. The back of the art block is finished in smooth black with a circular hanging point and bears several printed marks: 131, Turner Heart II, spiritiles by [houston llew], Glass on Copper, houstonllew.com, and atlanta usa.
