Two Contemporary Redware Heart Motif Plates by Joan Tatum and G. H. Feitig - This lot consists of two contemporary redware pottery plates, both dated 1991. The larger plate is decorated with a dark cobalt blue glaze and features a large central heart in an unglazed or contrasting slip-toned red. The rim is unglazed, exposing the red clay body. The reverse is incised with the signature Joan Tatum, a stylized heart symbol with the letters JT, and the date 1991. The smaller plate is finished with a mottled amber-brown glaze and a small central heart in a mustard-yellow slip. It features a coggled, textured rim. The reverse is incised with a small heart, G. H. Feitig, The Feitig Pottery, Pa. 1991, and a stylized character. Larger plate diameter: 6.5 inches Smaller plate diameter: 4.5 inches.
