Antique National Washboard Co. No. 862 Wood and Glass Washboard - This antique laundry washboard was manufactured by the National Washboard Co. and is the No. 862 National model. The piece is constructed with a wooden frame that supports a corrugated clear glass scrubbing surface. The header board features stenciled branding including the company name, model number, and the brand name National in prominent red block lettering. Smaller stenciling at the bottom of the header board notes trademark information and lists manufacturing locations in Chicago, Saginaw, and Memphis. The reverse side is fitted with a hanging wire.
