A Pair of Hand-Carved and Painted Folk Art Wooden Walking Sticks with Snake Motifs - A collection of two hand-carved and painted wooden folk art walking sticks or canes. The taller cane features an L-shaped handle carved into a green snake head with its mouth slightly agape, and a painted green snake body spiraling down the length of the natural-finish wooden shaft. The second, slightly shorter staff is topped with a carved and painted human head depicting a fair-haired, bearded man, and also features a green snake motif spiraling down the shaft. Both pieces are finished with protective rubber or plastic tips at the base. The wooden shafts show natural twists, common in vine-wrapped wood such as sassafras.
