The piece is constructed from painted wood, likely pine, with a deep burgundy or oxblood red exterior finish and a contrasting cream-colored beadboard back in the upper section. The upper hutch features decorative scalloped crown molding and matching scalloped side supports, containing two full-width fixed shelves with integrated plate grooves for display. The lower sideboard base is configured with a vertical bank of four drawers on the left side and a three-door cabinet with recessed panels on the right.
