Lester Breininger Redware Folk Art Spaghetti Lion Figurine - A Lester Breininger (1935-2011) redware pottery lion figurine, handcrafted in Robesonia, Pennsylvania. The folk art earthenware figure is modeled in a standing posture with a high-arched loop tail and a large, stylized head. The piece is decorated using the spaghetti clay technique, featuring numerous hand-applied thin coils of clay to create a dense, shaggy texture on the mane and tail tuft. The figurine is finished in a high-gloss, two-tone glaze, with a mustard yellow ground and dark chocolate brown highlights on the facial features and textured elements. The face features large round eyes, a rounded nose, and a wide toothy grin. The underside of the torso is signed with the hand-painted black mark LB 88 Pd., identifying the maker and the production year of 1988.
