Kollianne Roberts Wood Spirit and a Group of Folk Art Chickens - A group of four sculptures including one hand-carved wood spirit and three folk art chickens. The wood sculpture is carved from a single piece of textured timber, featuring a bearded, expressive face with an open mouth integrated into the natural grain and form of the wood. The piece is inscribed Kollianne Roberts 1985 in black ink on the flat-sawn integral base. The collection also includes three avian figures of varying sizes, representing a chick, a hen, and a rooster. These figures are constructed from mixed media including corn husks, dried plant fibers, and wire armatures. They are finished with red dyed or painted accents on the combs and wattles. The largest figure, a rooster, features a long, flowing tail made of fine dried grass fibers.
