John Jeffery Barts Hand-Carved and Painted Wooden Northern Pike Sculpture 1992 - This hand-carved and painted wooden fish sculpture, representing a Northern Pike, was created by John Jeffery Barts in 1992. The piece features a streamlined, torpedo-shaped body with a dark greenish-gray mottled finish on the upper half, transitioning to a light-toned natural wood grain belly. Detail work includes inset dark eyes and a carved slit mouth. A length of natural fiber twine is tied around the base of the tail and threaded through the mouth. The underside of the belly is inscribed in black ink with the text: Northern Pike John Jeffery Barts 1992. The sculpture is carved from a single block of wood. Length: 22.25 inches.
