R. P. Madison Signed Carved Wood Canvasback Drake Duck Decoy - This vintage carved wood duck decoy represents a canvasback drake. The figure features a reddish-brown head with inset red glass eyes, a black breast and tail, and a white body decorated with gray vermiculated paint details. The underside is fitted with a lead weight strip and a metal anchor ring. The base of the decoy features a hand-inscribed cursive signature that reads R. P. Madison, Mackey Coll., and 1957. The inscription references the provenance of the renowned William J. Mackey Jr. collection. The construction consists of a carved wooden body with what appears to be original painted surfaces.
