Vintage Hand Carved and Painted Wooden Fish Spearing Decoy - A vintage hand-carved and painted wooden fish decoy intended for use in ice spearing. The object features a carved wooden body with a notched tail. The upper half is finished in red paint decorated with a dark brown cross-hatched pattern to simulate scales, transitioning to a yellow-painted belly and throat. The eyes are rendered in black paint with a yellow outer ring. Two thin metal fins are inset into the sides of the body. A rectangular lead weight is recessed into the underside, and a small metal screw-eye is mounted on the top for line attachment. There are no visible maker marks, signatures, or patent dates. 7.5 inches in length.
