Carved and Painted Wood Teal Drake Duck Decoy in Preening Pose - This hand-carved and painted wood duck decoy depicts a teal drake in a decorative preening sleeper position. The head is turned back toward the tail with the bill resting against the side of the body. The bird features a mottled grey body paint pattern with a dark brown crown and horizontal eye stripe. The wing speculums are rendered in stylized blocks of forest green, light blue, and white. The underside is equipped with a flat lead bar keel secured by two screws and a circular metal line tie ring at the forward end. The base is impressed with two distinct stamps: T O D D S above the keel and J U T below the keel. Length: 10.5 inches.
