A Set of Seven Nichols and Stone Windsor Style Dining Chairs - This set includes two bow-back armchairs and five matching bow-back side chairs manufactured by Nichols and Stone Co. of Gardner, Massachusetts. Three of the chairs are not pictured but are in similar condition. The chairs are constructed from selected Northern hardwoods using traditional Windsor joinery, featuring continuous bentwood crest rails, slender spindles, and shaped seats. The frames, including the turned legs, H-shaped stretchers, and back supports, are finished in black paint, while the hardwood seats feature a natural wood finish. The underside of one chair seat bears a yellow manufacturer label stating MADE OF SELECTED NORTHERN HARDWOODS, NICHOLS and STONE CO., The Home of Windsor Chairs, and GARDNER, MASSACHUSETTS. The label also includes a shield logo with the text Windsor Since 1857 and a handwritten notation in ink reading 16 LB - 0705 - 210.
