Pennsylvania House Solid Cherry Four Drawer Bachelor's Chest - A Pennsylvania House low chest of drawers, commonly referred to as a bachelor's chest or silver chest, constructed from solid cherry with a medium reddish-brown finish. The rectangular top features a molded edge positioned above a configuration of two short drawers over two full-width long drawers. The chest is set on a molded base with bracket feet and a decoratively shaped front apron. Each side is equipped with a functional brass swing-bail carrying handle, a design characteristic of traveling or silver chests. The drawer fronts are fitted with brass batwing-style backplates and bail handles. The two lower long drawers feature decorative central escutcheons.
