Rare testimony document from the holy city of Safed, about the inheritance of the Holy Rabbi Aharon of Alik – Safed. 24th day of Iyar 5664 (1904).
בפנינו עדים הח"מ באתה האשה מ' באבע והרב מוה"ר יוסף דוד בראנדוויין ש' בהרב ר' אה[ר]לע זלה"ה מאליק ואמרו לנו היו עלינו עדים גמורים כו"כ וקנו מאתנו... וחתמו ותנו לאחי וגיסתנו מו"ה יחיאל מיכל בראנדוויין ש' וזו' מ' גיטל ת' להיות בידם... כל חלק הירושה שיש לנו בהבית אשר השאיר הר"ר אהרלע".
[1] page 36 cm. With a pressure embedded stamp in Arabic. With signatures of witness's R' Avraham Erdstein and R' Tzvi Aharon ben R' Moshe Yosef, along with the signature of his son the Holy Rabbi Yosef David ben R' Aharon.
The Holy Rabbi Aharon of Alik-Stratyn, son of Rabbi Tzvi Arye of Pleschen, grandson of the holy Rabbi Tzvi Arye of Alik, and great-grandson of the Holy Rabbi of Strettin, was raised in the home of his mother's uncle the Holy Rabbi Yisrael of Ruhzyn, who bequeathed him in his youth as Admor and even gave him a 'kvitel' with a 'pidyon'. Immigrated to Israel and settled in Safed, there he was from the community leaders of the Chassidim, many were helped by his blessings. He was buried next to his holy father in the cave of the holy 'Be'er Mayim Chaim'. His son in law was Rabbi Pinchas Chaim of Boston. His righteous sons were the Holy Rabbi Avraham and the Holy Rabbi Yosef David and the Holy Rabbi Yechiel Michal.
His oldest son the holy Rabbi Avraham Admor of Stratyn, and his son after him the Holy Rabbi Yehudah Tzvi Brandwein [brother-in-law and disciple of the 'Baal HaSulam'] whom from them continued the Stratyn dynasty in the Old City.
The signer is his son the Holy Rabbi Yosef David Brandwein from Pleschen - Safed, author of sefer 'Keter Malchut' on Torah according to Chassidut, passed away in 1910.
His son the Holy Rabbi Yechiel Michal Brandwein (1871 - 1939), Admor of Stratyn –Turka, his son was the Holy Rabbi Tzvi Arye Brandwein (1896-1957) Admor of Turka. Son in law of Rabbi Yechiel Michal was the Holy Rabbi David Flam (1933 -2003), and his son Rabbi Aharon Yaakov Brandwein (1935-2014) Admorim of Stratyn dynasty. Another son–in-law of Rabbi Yechiel Michal, is the Hoy Rabbi David Admor of Skver –Boro Park.
Folding marks, tears along the length of the fold line, aging stains. Good condition.
