Extremely rare! Complete letter hand written and singed by Rabbi Nathan Nota Eibschitz son of the Holy Rabbi Yehonathan Eibschitz. Dresden, 1754.
Rare letter, all hand written by Rabbi Nathan Nota son of the Holy Rabbi Yehonathan Eibschitz. Dresden, 1754.

The letter is all hand written and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Nathan Nota Eibschitz, and addressed to Rabbi Hirtz, apparently he became entangled with one of the royal ministers, and Rabbi Nathan Nate instructed what he should do about it. In his letter, being that a wise man is preferable to a prophet, Rabbi Nathan Nota predicts exactly the minister's future moves and advises him how to go about it. The letter was written during the life of his father Rabbi Yehonathan, as he mentions in the letter "אמ"ו אבי הגאון נר"ו" (- My father the Gaon NRU). Also mentioned in the letter are Rabbi Shlomo Svetali – assistant of Rabbi Yeonathan Eibschitz, and Mendel Ginzberg.

11x12 cm. Light fold marks. Very good condition.

Rabbi Nathan Nota son of Rabbi Yehonathan Eibschitz (24th of Av 1789). Was the third son of Rabbi Yehonathan Eibschitz (mentioned in the introduction of his father's famous sefer 'Urim Vetumim'). Married his wife the daughter of Rabbi Yehuda Leib Ulma of Prague and lived there for a certain period after his wedding, later he moved with his father to Altona. Due to persecution of Rabbi Yaakov Emden following the famous controversy with Rabbi Yehonathan Eibschitz of which the Ya'avetz, Rabbi Yaakov Emdin accused him of following the Sabbateans (believers of Shabbatai Tzvi), he was unable to continue living in Altona, he therefore moved to live in the city of Dresden together with his brother Rabbi Yehuda Leib, (this letter was written during that time there). He inherited from his father his famous wisdom and intelligence as is engraved on his gravestone: "איש גדול בענקים, חכו ממתקים, חכם חרשים ונבון לחשים, גזע ישישים, ראש השלישים, אדם גדול העצה, ולתבונתו לא היה חקר, ולאוצרות חכמתו אין קצה, המאור הגדול המפורסם ערוגת הבושם מוה"ר נתן נטע, בן להאי צדיק נהורא דאורייתא... הוא ניהו הגאון רשכב"ה מו"ה יהונתן אייבעשיץ זצלל"ה".
