A goblet for protection! Silver Kiddush cup, made from coins given by holy righteous sages as a segula for protection and success.
Stamped silver Kiddsuh goblet, from end of 18th century or about the beginning of the 19th century.
The goblet was made with coins for holy protection given by righteous sages, as was known and accepted in the courtyards of the righteous from the beautiful Chernobyl and Ruzhyn dynasties to give segula coins, which have been blessed by the hands of holy Tzaddikim.
Adorned with engraved flowers and in the center the figure of a lion and horse upright on two front legs.
In the center of the decoration, engraved in a circle in Hebrew lettering, the caption 'זה הכוס משמירות' ('this cup is for protection').

Great Chassidic sages, were accustomed at times to give coins for protections and blessing. These coins were full of holy intentions, and were given as protection and blessing during special times. These valuable treasures were handed down from father to son generation after generation. Many times these coins were smelted into holy objects especially Kiddush goblets.

Stamped silver. Hight 6 cm. Weight 81 gram.
