Tiferes Shmuel, innovations and notations on Seder Piskei HaRosh, authored by the Gaon Rabbi Aharon Shmuel Kaidanover the father of the Holy Gaon author of Kav HaYashar, first edition, Frankfurt, 1696. 


This Sefer became a heritage asset among Torah scholars and students and it is printed adjacent to Piskei HaRosh at the end of the editions of the Shas. This edition is the only one that was printed in itself and not as an addendum to the volumes of the Shas. 


Ownership notations on the title page: "גרשון הארקוויץ בירושלים" and in Sephardic Solitero (Chatzi Kulmus): "Nissim Sasson" and and additional notation. 


The Holy Gaon Rabbi Aharon Shmuel Kaidanover (1624-1676), one of the greatest Poskim in Ashkenaz of all generations. Was a disciple of the Rav Rabbi Heshich of Krakow (who was also the Rav of the Shach). Served as Dayan at the Beis Midrash of the author of the Chelkas Mechokek. He suffered greatly in his life, especially during the years of rage 1648-1649. Served as Rav in important towns such as Nikolsburg and Reisha and more. His son was the Holy Gaon Rabbi Zvi Hirsch author of the holy Sefer Kav HaYashar. The Chida wrote of him: "Was most resourceful in his genuine editings and innovations, in a short and kosher manner". 


[2], 126 leaves, 18 cm. 

Some wear and restorations, possibly several leaves are missing from the beginning of the Sefer. General condition good-very good.
