Letter handwritten by the pious Rebbetzin of Satmar Mrs. Alta Feiga Teitelbaum, on matters of charity and her longing to return to the Holy Land. Yiddish. The year is not noted. 1947-1948.


In the letter, she asks the confidante of the Tzaddikim of Satmar the rabbinic Chassid Rabbi Zvi Pinchas Hacohen Moskowich to send the donation check for the widows and orphans from the funds he had raised. 

She also expresses her wish that they merit returning to the Holy Land ''מיר וואלטין זעהרק געוואלט זיין דארטין אין וואס מאכט עפעס אונזער עוילם ווי זעהט יעצט אויס דאס לעבען דארט'. She pleads with the addressee, being a Cohen, to bless the Jewish people with blessings of salvation and good health. She also asks him to mention her at holy sites. 

The Rebbetzin signs the lengthy letter 'Alta Feiga bas Gitl'.


The pious Rebbetzin Mrs. Alta Feiga Teitelbaum of Satmar [1912-2001] the second wife of Maran the holy Rav Rabbi Yoel of Satmar. The daughter of the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Avigdor of Chenstochov. Married Rabbi Yoel in 1937 and was not blessed with offspring. Was famed for her piety, Avodas Hashem, wisdom, charity and kindness toward any Jew. Was revered in the Satmar court and outside of it. Took part in the establishment of varied Torah and charity institutions.
