Rare, pedigreed copy: Minhag Avos Tanya, customs and Halachos according to the custom of the residents of Rome. First edition. Mantua, [1514]. The personal copy of Rabbi Isaac Raphael Pinzi with his signatures and glosses.


Sefer Minhag Avos Tanya, halachic composition accompanying the Siddur according to the Italian custom [by Rabbi Yechiel ben Yekutiel Anav HaRofeh], Mantua, Shmuel Latif Press, [1514]. Rare. 


[200] pp. 19 cm. Shortened adaptation of Sefer Shibolei HaLekes with many additions. Printed anonymously and without a title page. The place of printing, year of printing and printer's details appear on the colophon at the end of the Sefer. The title of the Sefer was taken from the first words of the Sefer. In later editions, it is titled Tanya Rabbata or Tanya Rabbati. Some of the editions attributed the Sefer to Rabbeinu the Rosh or to Rabbi Yechiel ben Rabbi Tzidkiya. Notation on the flyleaf, several short glosses and several signatures in Hebrew and a foreign language 'Isaac Raphael Finzi".

Rabbi Isaac Raphael ben Rabbi Elisha Michael Finzi (1728-1812) a disciple of Rabbi Yitzchak Lamperonti author of Pachad Yitzchak and his son Rabbi Shlomo. Was a Rav and Darshan in Kozle and a famed Darshan and Rosh Av Beis Din of Padova. In 1806 served as the chairman of Napoleon's "Sanhedrin" in Paris. Corresponded on halachic matters with the leading rabbis of his generation and authored several Seforim including Shut Pri Tzaddik, Pri To'ar on the Torah, Zayit Ra'anan, Leshon Esh, compilations of Piyyutim and eulogies and more. 


 New, elegant semi-leather binding, aging stains, one of the glosses was cut in its left edge during the binding process, good-very good condition.
