Important letter handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Yisroel Chaim Kaplan the Rosh Yeshiva of Toras Chessed of Brisk, about accepting students to his yeshiva, obtaining Gemores and books and support for the yeshiva. Nissan 1934. 


The letter which was written on a postcard was handwritten entirely by the Gaon Rabbi Yisroel Chaim Kaplan to the Gaon Rav Rabbi Aharon Berg, one of the heads of Va'ad HaYeshivos of Vilna who was close to the great Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky. 

In the letter, he asks him to send 60 Gemores Tractate Kiddushin with the Ran and the Rosh. In addition he asks not to send students of yeshiva ktana to his yeshiva, no more than last year. 

He also discusses how to raise funds for his yeshiva and more. 

At the end of the letter, he implores to be sent the funds raised for the yeshiva after the passing of the Tzaddik Gaon the Chofetz Chaim and the writing of a Sefer Torah for the ascent of his soul.


The famed Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Yisroel Chaim Kaplan [1895-1970] the Rosh Yeshiva of Toras Chessed of Brisk. A remnant of generations of Ba'alei Mussar, Geonim of Torah and Yirah. A disciple of Maran the Chofetz Chaim and the Tzaddik Gaon the Mashgi'ach Rabbi Yerucham of Mir. After th epassing of Maran the Imrei Moshe of Brisk, Rabbi Yisroel Chaim was appointed the Rosh Yeshiva of the large yeshiva of Brisk. After the Holocaust, he became a Mashgi'ach of the Beis Midrash Elyon Yeshiva of Monsey. His great son-in-law is the great Gaon Rabbi Baruch Dov Povarsky the Rosh Yeshiva of Ponovezh and his sons are also great Marbitzei Torah.
