Seder Olam Rabba and Seder Olam Zuta, Sefer HaKabbalah by the Ravad (the first), with HaGra's commentary. Yosel Lebenson Press, Warsaw, 1862. With stamps of the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Feimer of Slutzk and with handwritten glosses.  


This book contains a collection of the following important historiographic compositions: 

* Seder Olam Raba - attributed to the Tana Rabbi Yose ben Halafta and containing a Jewish chronology based on traditions and Drashot, from the period of Adam to the Bar Kokhba Revolt. 

* Seder Olam Zuta - continues and completes the chronology of Seder Olam Raba, the eighty nine generations from Adam to the exilarchs of Babylon. 

* Sefer HaKabbalah, a historiographic composition by Rabbi Avraham ben Daud, the first Ravad (1110-1180) of Cordova and Toledo. The book introduces Jewish history from the period of Moshe Rabbeinu to the period of the Geonim. 


[8], 2-28, [1] leaves. Inside the binding and on the flyleaves, ownership notations including "שייך להרב מו"ה... ד' בער ייטער הרב ושו"ב פה"ק... 1873". With a stamp of Rabbi Yosef Feimer of Slutzk. With [2] short handwritten glosses on the margins of the leaves. 


Rabbi Yosef Feimer, Reb Yosseleh Slutzker (ca. 1796-1864) one of the leading rabbis of Lithuania, the son of Rabbi Meir Feimer. Was known since childhood as an Iluy. An excelling student of the Volozhin yeshiva and a leading disciple of its Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Chaim Volozhin, who gave him his Hora'ah Semicha. Since 1829, the Rav of Slutzk. Most of his writings were lost in a fire. From those that remained, two books were published. 


Worn, semi-leather binding, partly detached. Aging stains. Moth holes. Good condition.
