Bidspirit auction | Handwritten Responsum from the Maharam

Handwritten Responsum from the Maharam of Berezhan - Handwritten and signed responsum from the Posek Hador, the Maharam of Berzhan regarding electricity on Shabbos – responsum sent to Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Tabak of Sighet author of “Teshuros Shai” – Carlsbad, 1907 – mentions the Mishna Berura on Hilchos Shabbos which had been printed just that year. The content of the responsum was printed in Responsa Teshuras Shai (Sighet, 1910) by Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Tabak of Sighet, in §577 (from where it was later copied to Responsa Maharsham, vol. 9, §11). In the original responsum before us are several sentences which were omitted in printing, such as his writing “I do not have any Seforim here with me so I must be brief” , as well as the two opening lines.
