Sacred and Awesome: Piece of Cloth from a Holy Garment of the Light of the World, Maran the Ba’al Shem Tov OBM, Incorporated Into a Tallis - The hallowed garment of the Ba’al Shem Tov was passed down the generations of the Goldenbaum family, descendants of a grandson of the holy Maggid of Mezhrich – the holy Rabbi Yisrael Chaim of Ludmir, son of the holy Rabbi Avraham Hamal’ach OB”M. The family had inherited a Bekiche – a kaftan embroidered in gold, which was worn by the holy Ba’al Shem Tov when he conducted his Shabbos meals. Over the generations, the garment became worn and torn, and was therefore taken to be repaired and restored. This work was done by one of the Ba’al Shem Tov’s descendants, who gathered each and every thread that was cut off or removed, and did not discard even one. (an affidavit is enclosed, including a full pedigree from the Maggid till today). One thread was incorporated into the lining of a new, elegant Chabad Tallis, which is placed in an elegant bag.
