Large, Embroidered Parochet – Over 200 Years Old! - Especially large Parochet – masterfully embroidered and designed for an especially high Aron Kodesh, from 1802 – over 200 years old. Rich and uniquely embroidered Parochet, especially long, and with the addition of an embroidered valance cut in a chevron design with green embroidery and unique flower decorations in gold thread across the entire velvet. The Parochet is inscribed only with the letters “כ ת” – for “כתר תורה” (Crown of the Torah) and the year [5]562 (1802). The Parochet is large in size, especially long, and was most probably in use in one of the ancient and illustrious European Synagogues of the time. Tears and wear along the cloth. Border frame all around, reinforced with pins and stitching from recent time. Original metal hanging hooks were preserved. Overall good condition. Size: Valance: W: 153cm. H: 27-37cm.
