Shivchei Ba’al Shem Tov – Sephardic Manuscript Transcription - Sephardic manuscript, a copy of the Sefer Shivchei HaBa’al Shem Tov, wonderous stories of the Ba’al Shem Tov [possibly written by the emissary Rabbi Yosef Chaim Shrim?] Handwritten transcript, in a Sephardic handwriting, of the first edition which had been printed in Kopust in 1815 (made ca. late 19th century). The handwriting is neat and readable, in the Syrian style, which is very similar to the handwriting of “the traveling emissary”, the Ḥacham Rabbi Yosef Chaim Shrim (1851-1949), a charity collector and emissary of Eretz Yisrael and the Rishonim LeTzion, author of the Seforim “Dvar Yosef” and “Rachashei Lev”. This unique item testifies to the spread of the teachings of Chassidus among the Sephardic sages of Eretz Yisrael. 90 pp. Front cover damaged and detached. Damaged spine splits the first half to detached and semi-detached galleys. Stains. The title page and the approbations were not copied. Last page missing. Fair-good condition.
