Mishnayot Zera’im and Mo’ed. Hundreds of Glosses in Ashkenazi Handwriting. Late 1700’s - Mishnayot Zera’im and Mo’ed – Amsterdam, 1763 – hundreds of glosses in neat Ashkenazi handwriting. end of the 18th – start of the 19th century. The glosses show incredible proficiency in the Shas and the Rishonim. The writer quotes many times the Sefer “Kol HaRamaz” and from the “Beis David” commentary on the Mishna. On the front flyleaf the Gaon, author of the glosses, notes the dates when he started and ended the Sedarim of Zera’im and Mo’ed and the entire Mishnayos. The dates are between 1793-1820. Incomplete exemplar. 2, 4-132, [1], 124 pp. (Originally: [3], 132, [1], 172). Total of 54 missing pages. 24cm. Moth holes on most pages. Stains and wear. Some detached pages. Original leather-over-wood cover, damaged and detached. Spineless. Fair-bad condition.
