Holy and Unique Judaica Item – a Sefer Torah With Uniquely Artistic, Ivory-Inlaid Atzei Chaim. - Sefer Torah written in Sephardic script, rolled around Atzei Chaim made of ivo​ry carved in artistic patterns. 19th-century Turkey. Parchment measures 38cm. in height. 42 lines, written with proper scribing. Turkish-Sephardic script. The entire Sefer was written by the same scribe, with no replacement of parchment segments. Some of the segments are lighter-colored. Some segments with sewing. Several words corrected and the writing fixed in some places. Some of the ink is slightly faded and some peeling letters. Not sold as Kosher . Overall height, including the Atzei Chaim: 88cm. On both handles is a carved inscription: “Refael Shabtai Shimon” The ivo​ry disk at the bottom of one handle was replaced with a wooden one, shaped to match the original. Some slight damage to the Atzei Chaim. The Sefer is wrapped in an old, embroidered belt, without the outer mantle. Unique, holy, rare, and artistic object.
